Our investments are made through effective business, labor, educational, community-based, and service provider organizations for the opportunity, economic well-being, and benefit of our entire community.

Vision

Workforce Snohomish will be a nationwide leader in providing a model system of universal access in which employers have access to a sustainable workforce, job candidates develop careers to achieve a living wage, and the community can build upon its economic health and vitality.

What We Do

Workforce Snohomish (WFS) is focused on workforce development – connecting people to jobs, businesses to a trained workforce, and individuals to the education and training necessary to further their careers. WFS accomplishes this through several projects and programs alongside county partners.

The overarching goal of Workforce Snohomish's work is to underpin economic health and vitality in Snohomish County for both job seekers and businesses.

*WFS is not a hiring or recruiting organization.

Our Programs

All the programs WFS manages and implements work together in a holistic manner to ensure the best possible outcomes for all participants and customers.

WFS manages the Snohomish County WorkSource Center. WorkSource is a partner of the nationwide system of American Job Centers and provides a full range of free assistance to job seekers and businesses in one location. One program, SnoCo Connect, is housed in the WorkSource system and offers a  mobile career center for young adults . This program combines education, career skills training, community and employment resources and provides wrap-around support that inspire and motivate young adults to pursue their success.

The Asset Building Coalition is WFS’s newest program, focusing on financial literacy and empowerment while helping Snohomish County residents become as financially independent as they are able.

WFS operates several Employment Retraining and Special Programs. In order to be responsive to community needs, WFS implemented a number of projects and initiatives to advance workforce development and economic activity through focused assistance to populations or industries with workforce needs.

The WFS Business Engagement team assists businesses and employers find and retain talent, train their current employees, and discover how to avoid layoffs during a downturn.
